The Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Senior Economist to join its Surveillance and Financing Department.
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the preparation of economic surveillance reports, country assessments, and policy notes for member countries.
• Conduct macroeconomic, financial sector, debt sustainability, and risk analyses to support economic reform programs.
• Develop economic indicators, forecasting models, and analytical tools for policy assessment and surveillance.
• Provide policy advice and technical assistance on macroeconomic and structural reforms.
• Lead and contribute to research studies on regional and global economic and financial issues.
• Draft policy briefs, recommendations, and reports for senior stakeholders and policymakers.
• Support the preparation of AMF flagship economic publications and reports.
• Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives for member countries.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with government authorities, central banks, and international financial institutions.
• Monitor economic developments and provide forward-looking policy recommendations to support sustainable growth and economic stability.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in economics, finance, research, or policy advisory roles.
• Proven expertise in macroeconomic analysis, econometrics, economic modeling, and forecasting.
• Strong proficiency in statistical and econometric software, including EViews, STATA, MATLAB, Python, R, and related tools.
• Demonstrated experience in economic research and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience in designing and delivering training and capacity-building programs.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in Arabic and English; French language skills are an advantage.
